Road to Recovery

I'm not going to say too much here, but it's a strange feeling having completed what I set out to do. I've been a bit lost without it out there to aim for. However, seeing as how I've had something of an obsession with the statistics, here they come for the end of the process. 6 months of training, culminating in a marathon that I really enjoyed doing required the following:

Distance: 544.8 miles

Time: 99:06:26

Calories: 52,093

To put that in perspective, that's over 4 whole days of running and 26 days worth of the average female calorie intake! Crazy!

Since then, I've done a few bits and pieces to try to recover, but have suffered something of a dip in motivation and so haven't done as much as I probably should have.

I did a steady walk the day after the marathon. Then the day after that a rather tentative walk/ run, walking for 5 minutes at a time and running for 1, a mere half an hour of that was enough at the time.

Then it was nothing until the following Saturday, when I did 4 miles, but still with quite a bit more walking than usual. 3 miles with slightly less walking on the Tuesday, then nothing until this morning - 2 miles with only a minute of walking right at the end. Not really text book, but I'm aiming to regain some mojo from here on in.
