Quick Catch Up

I've got a few sessions to tell you about and not very much time to do it in. So, it's going to need to be a bit of a whistle-stop tour this time, just the details and very little waffle. I expect there may be some sighs of relief at this anyway!

On Monday morning I was out for my usual start the week shorter run, the three mile route, and boy, was it cold. It was about minus 7! That's the coldest it's been for a while, serious ice on any accumulated water. Still, it was beautiful and clear and I enjoyed the experience.

Yesterday morning I went out on my bike. That was fine and pretty enjoyable too. I could have done without the idiot driving at about 60 in a 30 zone and beeping very loudly as they came up to me - at half five in the morning on an empty road - there really can't be any need for that! Anyway, I did 47 minutes and felt pretty good about it too.

Then, when I got back from work in the afternoon, it was time for this week's long run. Not that it was all that long this time, a mere 8.7 miles! The point however, was mile repeats. I didn't feel a lot like getting out there but didn't give myself any choice. I got changed and kicked myself out of the door. I felt rather sick for about the first half of the run, don't know why, but it did eventually die away. I ran to my mile place using 9 minute 1 minute, then managed each of the repeats in 9 minute miling, which did surprise me as I didn't feel too great. Then used the pattern on the way back too. All of that, including walk breaks at the end of the repeats and I was still back here in exactly 10 minute mile time over all! I was rather pleased with that.

Distance: 351.4 miles

Then I went back out on my bike for an hour and a quarter and quite enjoyed it, especially as it didn't rain, despite looking like it was going to. So, a very full day, but I felt pretty pleased with the achievement by the end of it all.
